Have your kids create their own "True Ad" project by juxtaposing real tobacco industry ads with spoof ads they've created themselves.

Here's how:

• collect tobacco advertisments from magazines or online. The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids <http://tobaccofreekids.org/adgallery> has a gallery of ads produced by tobacco companies.
• do a bit of detective work to see if the ads are truthful, and then create your own "true ads."

Suggestions on how to present the project:

• create web pages with your pictures and put them up on the school's Internet site
  
  
• mount the ads on bristol board and display them in your school or community centre
• design a slide show to present to a Guiding or Scouting unit or at an assembly in school
